I have said that I am a devotee of attorney Knicole Emanuel’s blog “Medicaid Law.” She recently appeared on the Hospital Finance Podcast and answered questions about the suspension of audits such as Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) – something many hyperbaric programs are dealing with.
The problem is that even if an audit is suspended, you should still respond to requests for records as if it isn’t (but, at least the whole process will slow down). Even better, there won’t be any new TPEs for a while, and that’s a small mercy from COVID-19.
