A mysterious condition is being identified in children related to infection with COVID-19. Children seemed to have been spared the worst of COVID-19 – but now we have another previously unknown complication of a viral infection. Houston’s two major pediatric hospitals are treating children with “multisystem inflammatory syndrome” (MIS-C) linked to Coronavirus. The syndrome has emerged in recent weeks as the most serious Coronavirus-associated threat to children.
I’m thinking of the role that inflammatory conditions play in non-healing wounds. Mark my words, we will deal with this somehow in wound centers.
