The Houston Chronicle has a feature article raising awareness about chronic wounds. I interviewed my friend Kevin who is mentioned in it. It came out just as he was being discharged home following a lengthy hospitalization to manage complications from a recurring wound. (Thank you Dr. Kyle Dickson, worker of miracles, and Dr. Erik Maus, wound doctor extraordinaire!).

A few nights ago at the hospital, we had a fried chicken dinner and he told me about the fun he is having training standard poodles as hunting dogs. That’s what they were originally used for. It seems funny to us, and not very manly – but real men can hunt with poodles. I am pretty sure Kevin can do just about anything. He told me that his discharge orders had been written conditionally, “If wife is delivering puppies, may leave tomorrow.”
