I’ve been receiving the emails from Tactile Medical emphasizing the relationship between chronic venous insufficiency and lymphedema, many of which feature real-time lymphatic images taken with the near infrared imaging device developed by Dr. Eva Sevick at the University of Texas McGovern School of Medicine in Houston. I had the exciting opportunity to work with her and her team for more than a decade, imaging hundreds of people with lymphedema.
For decades, wound care practitioners have known about the relationship between chronic venous disease and lymphedema, but now thanks to near infrared images of the lymphatics, anyone can see it.
