The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) working in collaboration with the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders and many other organizations is asking for your help to stop the proposed drastic cut in facility fees for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Please follow the links below to add your voice to this collaborative effort! We are all in this together.
Medicare reimbursement for hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy will be cut by 41.5% in 2024 if the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) does not issue a correction to the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) final rule. These cuts will devastate patient access to HBO therapy across the United States.
Stakeholders are encouraged to sign on to this letter to HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure to urge CMS to reverse these cuts and implement a 3% increase in reimbursement that was contemplated in the 2024 OPPS proposed rule.
