The list of all CMS approved Qualified Clinical Data Registries (QCDRs) has been posted. These QCDRs have been approved by CMS to participate in reporting QCDR measures and/or MIPS (Merit Based Incentive Payment System) quality measures, PI (Promoting Interoperability) measures, IAs (Improvement Activities), and MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs) for the 2024 performance period.

A QCDR is also a CMS-approved intermediary that collects clinical data from an eligible clinician, group, virtual group, subgroup, and/or APM Entity and submits the data to CMS as a part of MIPS. QCDRs must demonstrate clinical expertise in medicine and quality measurement development. They collect medical or clinical data in order to track patients and diseases and foster improvement in the quality of care provided to patients, regardless of payer type. QCDRs are usually created by specialty societies and most specialty societies have one. Since wound care is not a recognized medical specialty, there was no specialty society to create one. The US Wound Registry (USWR) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides quality reporting on behalf of wound care and hyperbaric practitioners, and which develops wound care relevant quality measures. Here is a listing of the 2024 wound care relevant quality measures approved by CMS.

Physicians eligible to participate in MIPS but who fail to do so can lose 9% of their Medicare allowable charges. Stay tuned for more information about how a QCDR can help you with MIPS participation.
