CMS has extended the 2019 MIPS reporting data submission deadline. For MIPS eligible clinicians reporting as INDIVIDUALS, CMS has identified the COVID-19 pandemic as a triggering event for the MIPS Automatic Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances (E&UC) policy. Clinicians who don’t submit MIPS data will automatically receive a neutral payment “adjustment”. The automatic policy does not apply to Policy adjustment in 2021.
